Tormented

Kitera believes she has managed to evade her former master, the Soulless One, since it's disappearance or now suspected change of host and appearance. However she couldn't be more wrong as the truth of the matter is she has been allowed to live as she and two others are actually a door for the Soulless One to re-enter the realm. The three do not know that they each carry a part of the Soulless One's essence and they wouldn't know or recognise each other should they meet. Kitera and Zorbels are both carriers but the third is publicly unknown. When the three carriers come together the Soulless One shall re-emerge, why it hasn't done so already is a puzzle but it can only be guessed that the unknown carrier is harder to locate than first thought. Kitera knows that the pact she made with Alhana is one of no escape, so now she awaits the day when the price for that pact is collected, a dreaded day to say the least. For Kitera each day is a gift, becoming sweeter and more meaningful. She spends what she believes are her final days alone, sat in front of the fire place of Hydlaa's only tavern, Kada El's.

Abstract

Kitera and her sister Meowd put their personal differences aside in a joint effort to seek answers for a way to break the binding hold Alhana (the Soulless One) retains over them despite her disappearance some time ago. After a lengthy and at times heated discussion in Kada El's Tavern, Kitera and Meowd bring their options into focus. They decide on tracking down any remaining minions of Alhana's to begin with.

Fanatic
The search for any remaining minions or others infected proves to be most tiresome and at every turn leads to a dead end. Kitera now feeling like she has finally found a place amongst those of the Dark Empire tells Meowd the search is useless and they both should move onwards, however Meowd has become obsessed, fanatical with the notion of Alhana's return and once more a feeling of animosity grows between the two. Meowd's world becomes more distorted with each day passing and her sleep feverish with memories from the past. One such night she sits awake with a maddened look upon her face, her mind recalling everything she remembers in search for something, a clue, a single lead. It is then it hits her, and with a slow twitching dark smile and unblinking eyes she whispers harshly into the darkness, "Of course!, Zorbels!"

Devoted
In the deathrealms library somewhere in the upper chambers. The alcove is now dim and dusty... untouched for many long years.
The silence is ocassionaly broken by distant whispers echoing thoughout the empty chamber.
A single figure standing before the alcove kneels slowly...

"Long it has been since I walked within these walls and I return now only as to see with my own eyes what has become of this once feared chamber. These words of mine will fall on deaf ears for I know you will never return. Few of us now remain who once carried out your wishes, however our resolve remains as strong. United togther again we shall seep into the open hearts of those who would stand in our path, putrefying and corrupting as we move. We who have been driven and outcast by those who bask in the light of thier own supremacy.
This day we stand once more as reborn!"

As the figure rises to leave a brief glimpse of movement from a dark corner is seen.
The figure quickly dismisses it now lost in thought as it leaves the chamber.
