Roleplay Tactics

Hi, I'm evil - Stereotypes
By acting as stereotype dark/evil (e.g. running around shouting foul language, threatening everyone you meet) you will only make yourself either a target, the laughing stock of the community or even both.

Remaining small and unimportant, you are more likely to remain unnoticed or ignored and thus underestimated.
Avoid the pitfall of monologging (believe me it does happen).

There will always be times when the urge comes to reveal your plans early in all its horrific glory, but by doing so you only destroy all your working on and alert intended targets.

Attention seekers make poor villains unless pushed to the extreme.

All great super-villains you see in the movies remain in the background and work through others to accomplish their goals, only intervening when necessary. Follow in example and only then you learn to lead.

Plot, Plan, Prepare
Its usually seen as the most boring part to those who would rather rush into things.
This is fine for the lesser (or petty) villain who prefers action over preparation as they will only (if at all) see or ever be a small part of the canvas. Such people are easily exploited and predictable which is why over planning can be just as dangerous.

Learn all you can about the many aspects of your plan/plot, look at every angle.

Never forget... Knowledge is Power.

"True power is control without resistance or awareness of it's presence and influence."
